Four grotesque characters stare out into the public eye, throwing open their front door to pull you inside- meet The Family Blimp. An all consuming toxic baby, the monstrous black hole of the family; an evolving, exploring adolescent discovering herself, sex and 101 ways to manipulate her Father; a hapless man who trips, stumbles and falls through life and the powerhouse mother holding the reigns- if a little too tightly. A delightfully dysfunctional family who you’ll love, because after all, they’re not too dissimilar to your own.

Sexuality, loneliness, disconnection and love, we would like to invite you to see the various coping mechanisms and negotiations that goes into a day in the life of The Family Blimp- and the ruptures that go along side it. We have taken the everyday, unpicked it, blown it up, shaken it around and are now ready to throw it back into the public realm. This physical theatre piece will bring together clowning, slapstick and a touch of absurd- all within our grotesque world. The Family Blimp promises to be deliciously dark, highly physical, and freakishly playful experience.
